C.J. Zhang joined Matrix Partners China in 2008 and is now a Senior Associate. C.J. is responsible for identifying, screening and evaluating investment opportunities in e-Commerce, manufacturing/engineering and agriculture sectors. C.J. also actively assists Matrix's portfolio companies in their strategic expansion and partnering. Prior to Matrix Partners, C.J. worked at management consulting firm Arthur D. Little, where he led projects on strategic planning, process redesign and corporate finance for a number of Fortune 500 companies and leading Chinese companies. In addition, C.J. was co-founder of AKA IT, a start-up VPN solution provider. Prior to that, he also worked with Microsoft Research Asia as an intern.

C.J. was born in China and holds a bachelors and a masters in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University.

In his spare time, C.J. enjoys swimming and photography.
